School Rules

1)  Assembly
       - Pupils who are Singapore Citizens must sing the National Anthem and take the National Pledge.
       - Pupils will take the National Pledge with the right fist placed over the heart.


2)  Dismissal
       - All pupils in the afternoon session must assemble in the assembly area before they are dismissed.
       - Parents are to wait away from the school building and not to block the passageway or the gates.
       - Only parents of P1 pupils will be allowed to come into the school canteen to fetch their children on rainy days.


3) 
Matters on Examinations

3.1 Absence from examinations
       - If a pupil is absent due to medical reason, “VR” (Valid Reason) is recorded in place of marks. 
       - If a pupil is absent without a valid reason or medical certificate, he/she will not be awarded any marks.

3.2 Release of assessment scripts

       - All marked examination scripts, except composition scripts, will be returned to the pupils after the examination.
       - Scripts for composition writing and PSLE will not be released to the parents for their viewing.

3.3 Examination Regulations

       - Bring all the necessary materials needed for the examination.
         They include pens, 2B pencils, erasers, rulers, sharpeners and mathematical instruments.
       - Do not bring your bags, books, papers, notes, calculators,
handphones, computerised wrist watches or other
         unauthorized personal belongings (such as MP3 player, digital camera) into the examination room/hall.
         Any pupils found to be in possession of any unauthorized materials are liable to the same penalty as
         those who are caught cheating during the examination.


3.4 Use of dictionaries in the examination
       - Dictionaries and electronic dictionaries must conform to the following requirements:
         a)  Only dictionaries that are on the SEAB approved lists may be used during the Chinese/Malay/Tamil and Higher
               Chinese/Higher Malay/Higher Tamil composition papers (Paper 1)
         b)  All dictionaries must bear the school stamp and only monolingual dictionaries are allowed
         c)  Electronic dictionaries must be silent and battery operated.
              The ear-pieces are not permitted in the examination room/hall.

4)  Recess

       - Pupils are to queue up for their food and drinks and return crockery to the receptacles. They are to consume their food
         and drinks in the canteen area only.
       - Pupils are not allowed to stay in the classroom during recess unless a teacher is present.
       - Pupils are to assemble quietly 5 minutes before the end of the recess.


5)  Illness and Absence from School

       - A pupil has to produce a medical certificate or a letter of excuse from his/her parent when he/she returns after
         his/her absence from school.
       - A pupil may leave the school premises with the permission from the Principal, Vice Principal or HOD.
       - Parents/Guardians who wish to take their child home early must first obtain permission from the Principal, Vice Principal
         or any HOD.
         A sick child is not allowed to go home on his/her own.
         He/She must be taken home by an adult member of the family.


6) School Uniform
       - Pupils are to wear the prescribed school uniform and modification to the uniform is not allowed.
       - Pupils must be attired in their school uniform whenever they come to school.
       - Pupil must be smartly attired in a clean, ironed school uniform with a name tag, clean white canvas shoes and
         white socks without logo.
       - Name tags are to be sewn just above the school badge on the child’s school uniform.
       - The school PE T-shirt and black shorts are to be worn during PE lessons only.
       - Pupils can wear their PE T-shirt throughout the day on the day when they have PE lesson.
       - Primary 1 pupils are allowed to come to school in their school PE T-shirts and black shorts in Semester 1 only.
       - Pupils may come for CCA in PE attire or CCA attire.
       - Boys’ hair should not touch the eyebrow, top of the ear or the collar of the shirt. It should be kept short, clean
         and neat. No fanciful hairstyle is allowed.
       - Girls’ hair should be clean and neatly held away from the face with hair bands, clips or ribbons. These hair
         accessories should be either dark blue, dark brown or black in colour. Shoulder length hair should be tied up
         in not more than two 'pony tails' or plaits.
       - No side burn is allowed for boys. All boys should be clean shaven and no wearing of beards and moustache.
       - No accessories or jewelries are to be worn by boys and girls.
         Only girls are allowed to wear a small gold ear stud on each ear.
       - There should be no colouring or highlighting of hair.


7)  Items not to be brought to school

       - Any electronic devices ( such as handphones, MP3 players, handheld electronic toys etc) other than the watch worn on the
         hand
       - Chewing gum or bubble gum
       - Toys of any kind
       - Weapons – real or toy
       - Card games of any kind
       - Matches, lighters, cigarettes or tobacco products
       - Pornographic materials or X-rated materials
       - Any other items that will disrupt the learning process
